We stand in solidarity with those who are oppressed, foster justice for earth, and reverence the diversity of world cultures. Therefore we commit to develop a global consciousness through educational programs, advocacy and participation with the United Nations.

Partnership for Global Justice: August 2008 Alert

This month, we are joining with UNICEF in their focus on the children of Somalia. According to the UNICEF report, a Somali child’s chances of surviving to adulthood are among the lowest of children anywhere in the world. In Somalia, millions of children struggle to get medical attention, food and clean water. Somali forces and insurgents have forced more than one million Somalis to flee their homes. One in six persons displaced from the capitol, Mogadishu, is a child under five. Despite efforts by UNICEF, the food crisis continues to grow and more children are displaced by violence every day.
