In the afternoon I gave a presentation to the Justice Committee of the Sisters of St. Anne. I enjoyed the interaction and was impressed with their dedication and commitment. Along the way to the presentation I met some kind and helpful people; one of these is most memorable. A young lady sat next to me on the metro. She opened her book and offered me a lovely colored leaf and then we got to talking. She graduated from Columbia with a master's in Architecture and is now practicing as an architect. She is originally from Greece.
On my way back from the presentation I stopped at the Greek Food Festival. I enjoyed seeing the Greek dancers. The weather was perfect for an outdoor festival and it seemed to be my day for honoring the Greeks.
When I arrived home I had a voice message from the Archdiocesan Office for the Papal Visit. When I returned the call I was informed I had a ticket to the Vespers with the Pope. That was a wonderful way to end a most enjoyable day.
