Orientation/Briefing Days to the United Nations
Orientation/Briefing
Days are designed to provide basic information on the
United Nations system including the roles of the
Secretariat, the Nation States, the Non-Governmental
Organizations (NGOs) and other groups that form the UN
community. This includes an overview of the current UN
agenda and a reflection on how your congregation or
organization might be able to participate in UN
activities. This gathering is designed for those
involved in teaching and in justice and peace ministry
who are interested in learning more about the workings
of the UN. It is also for individuals -- students and
adults-- interested in broadening their understanding
of the United Nations system so that they can integrate
it within their understanding of the world. Please
extend this invitation to those who might be interested
in attending these Orientation Days. Our hope is to
provide access to and information about the United
Nations in ways that broaden our views as Global
Citizens and help us integrate this awareness into
everyday life and ministry.
