ALTERNATIVE INVESTMENT PROGRAM

The Partnership for Global Justice has formed an Alternative Investment Program which offers religious orders/groups the opportunity to participate in its mission of Global Systemic Change at no cost to the investors. This is a unique opportunity for you to invest with an international organization whose focus is consistent with your values.

How can this be done? Investors who participate in our program have the option to make an investment for 3 to 5 years and can receive 0%, 1% or 1.5% annually on their investment. The Partnership is able to receive 4-6% interest on its fund of about $200,000. The interest income to us is about $7,500 a year. This income is used by the Partnership to assist with basic operating expenses, salaries and programs.

The Partnership is in a new place as an organization and our investment program is key in establishing predictable sources of income. The purpose of the program is two fold: (1) to offer investors a way to participate in a ministry which promotes global spirituality, ethics, and more human and ecologically responsive governance systems; and (2) to give the Partnership a guaranteed source of income from the investment interest.

The Religious Orders Partnership has an excellent track record with investments. Our partners made generous investments through the Alternative Investment Program while we operated within Global Education Associates. Twenty-two religious congregations invested in the program and their generous loans helped support Religious Orders Partnership programs for six years.

At this time, we invite your congregation to consider making a 3-5 year loan of $10,000 to $30,000 or whatever you choose with an interest rate of 0-1.5%. At the end of the investment period (3-5 years), you may opt to renew your investment or request that the principal be repaid in full.

The money will be invested in Certificates of Deposit as well as low-risk socially-screened mutual funds through the Calvert Investment Fund. The program is administered by the Director of the Partnership with the assistance of the Board of Directors Finance Committee through Raymond James Financial Services.

Initial investments have been received October 1, 2003 and will continue to be received and invested on an ongoing basis.
